About the Event
Following two successful editions in Washington, D.C., the Africa @ World Bank/IMF Annual Meetings is heading to Bangkok, Thailand, on October 14, 2026.
For the first time, the platform is bringing its Africa-focused policy dialogue to Asia, creating an opportunity for African and Asian policymakers, business leaders, researchers, and development institutions to engage around issues that are central to both regions’ economic transformation.
Africa @ World Bank/IMF Meetings was created around a simple premise: African perspectives should help shape global economic conversations, rather than simply respond to them.
The Bangkok edition builds on that premise while expanding the conversation. As Africa and Asia navigate changing global trade patterns, financing constraints, demographic shifts, and the need for greater economic integration, there is significant scope to learn from one another and identify areas for practical cooperation.

About the Denis & Lenora Foretia Foundation
The Denis & Lenora Foretia Foundation was established to catalyze Africa’s economic transformation by focusing on social entrepreneurship, science and technology, innovation, public health, and progressive policies that create economic opportunities for all.
