About the Event

Africa @ World Bank/IMF Spring Meetings 2026 will take place on the margins of the Spring Meetings in Washington, D.C., bringing together more than 200 high-level participants from across the continent and global institutions.

The event serves as an annual platform for evidence-informed dialogue and strategic engagement on Africa’s economic transformation, debt sustainability, infrastructure investment, regional integration, job creation, and human capital development.

This convening is uniquely positioned because it bridges African policy leadership with international decision-making processes, providing a structured opportunity to reflect on Africa’s development trajectory, amplify African priorities, and engage with global partners.

The 2026 edition expands on the momentum generated in 2025 and responds directly to requests from African policymakers and partners for continued dialogue on economic resilience, financing, and reform pathways.

Under the overarching theme “Accelerating Africa’s Transformation,” the Africa @ World Bank/IMF Spring Meetings examines how African nations can leverage strategic partnerships, innovative financing mechanisms, and regional cooperation to drive sustainable economic growth. Discussions will focus on practical pathways to unlock Africa’s economic potential while addressing structural challenges that have historically constrained the continent’s progress.
