Olasupo Olusi is a distinguished economist and seasoned development finance expert with over two decades of experience shaping economic policy, driving private sector growth, and fostering fiscal sustainability on a global scale.

Currently the Managing Director & CEO of the Bank of Industry (BOI), he has served in senior roles at the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), leading transformative initiatives in capital markets reform, fiscal policy, and private sector development.

Dr. Olusi has worked extensively across Africa, the Middle East, and North Africa, delivering multi-million-dollar projects, conducting landmark economic diagnostics, and championing reforms that create an enabling environment for businesses—particularly Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Under his leadership, BOI’s strategic focus spans SMEs, Digital Transformation, Youth & Skills, Gender, Infrastructure, and Climate—driving inclusive growth and positioning Nigeria’s industrial sector for competitive advantage.

He holds a B.Sc. in Economics from Hull University, an M.Sc. in International Money, Finance & Investment, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Durham. He is a member of the Royal Economic Society (UK) and the American Finance Association (USA).
