Kotecha is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Chatham House, the Bretton Woods Committee and the International Advisory Panel of the East African Development Bank. He was a Trustee of Harvey Mudd College (2014-2017). In 2021, Mr. Kotecha joined UN Capital Development Fund”s Advisory Council (https://www.uncdf.org/advisory-council).

He is a past member of the Board of Directors of TurkRating, a Turkish rating agency (2006 to 2015). He also was a Board Member (2002 – 2007) and a Rating Committee Member (2002 – 2014) of BRC Investors Service, a Colombian rating agency acquired by S&P in 2014 and a Board member (2012 to 2015) of Mindteck, Inc., a US subsidiary of Mindteck (India) Limited.
